Size 2 - the smallest offered, is chosen to be a perfect one for a child.s first steps.
Basically these smallest Gucio shoes are ideal for a girl. As boys' foot is a bit bigger they start wearing shoes in number 3 (UK), 4 (USA). Every next size is different from a previous one of 0.3 inches in length. Till size 6 (UK), 7 (US) all of the Gucio shoes are constructed the same. Sizes 7 - 11 (UK), 8 - 12 (USA) are different, as they have a double sole. It is because child at that age already knows how to walk and the shoes are exposed to a higher mechanical damage.
How to measure a foot properly and which size to choose?
It seems that Gucio shoes purchase via internet is a risky thing (we can not put a shoe ours offspring's foot), and choosing a right size is simply a lottery for us. On a base of our experience we can tell you that it is not true! A proper foot's measuring is a way for picking up a proper size.
We give you instructions, step by step of how to measure a foot and how the received value refers to the size:
- child's barefoot put on the floor in the manner where heel opposites the wall (obstacle) creating right angel with it;
- mark the foot's length at the toes' ending point;
- to the value received add 0,44 inches (recommended free space). Received length refer to the table ;

Note that:
- shoes shouldn't be too small but also shouldn't be too big. Too small (too tight) shoes will surely make "First Steps" harder or can even deform the foot, too big shoes will not give all of the benefits of Gucio shoes features.
- recommended by the orthopaedists shoes' free space is 0.4 inches;
- child's foot grows very fast. Please check often if the shoes aren't too tight;
